TEAM OUTING • FIELDON
Every entrepreneur has to have GRIT, but Fieldon business owners always impresses us with their work ethic each year.
Highlights:
• Ringhausen's Orchard - We were able to see the apple cider making process. Joe & his wife are both active in the business and are 91 years old. Joe still loves picking apples even after all these years.
• TJ Horses & Tack - Ted & Lisa have a wonderful tack shop and we enjoyed seeing the horses, goats, and longhorn calves. They have raised three kids who also love horses and are just as hardworking as their parents are.
• Bank of Calhoun County with President, Chris Simon - We learned how banks work and about credit. This bank even coming to Fieldon is quite the story of finding a way - which meant helicoptering the money over the river during the flood of 1993.
• Fieldon Fashion with Coot Heitzig - We were able to use real beautician scissors and cut barbies hair to compete for the best cut. She has been in business since she was 17 years old! 50+ years and still going strong.
• Betty Duggan - Former Mayor of Fieldon and Former Betty's Get-N-Go owner (currently for sale). Betty is the current LONGEST RUNNING MAYOR in the state of Illinois and 3rd longest running female mayor in US history!
• Apple House - Dennis Ringhausen, son of Joe, is running most of the show these days and we aren't sure when he sleeps. We saw him at the beginning of our day making apple cider which made his day begin at 3:30am. Then at the end of his day he was working the retail location off of 67. Another example of the dedication it takes to be an entrepreneur.

Thank you all for speaking with us!
