H/A is a civil engineering firm - meaning they design the things used by the public like parks, roads, waterways, etc. They have four locations; Jerseyville was their first office and corporate office.

We recently learned about social media with Paige Ringhausen, Marketing Coordinator. Paige's first job was a babysitter after she had taken the babysitter course at Jersey Community Hospital at the age of 12.
She furthered her education and has Public Relations degree from SIUE.
Paige is a social media guru. She impressed the students with her knowledge, witt, and humble nature. She talked about managing different social channels, brand voice/tone, captions, quality > quantity, safety on social media for personal use and business, analytics, target audience, and so much more! Her advice to students: "Never stop learning - especially with social media because it changes every single day".

Mary Blotna, CFO, also joined us for the meeting to tell us about H/A. Mary's first job was when she was SIX YEARS OLD cutting corn out of bean fields.
She graduated Eastern with a degree in accounting and business.
She has been with H/A since 2000.
Her advice to the students: "The people you know can be your best resources".

Brandon Eggelhoff, Vice President, also stopped in to meet the students.
He started his own lawn mowing business at ten years old and ran it until he was twenty-five.
He graduated with a construction degree from SIUE. His advice to the students: "Hard work and determination can get you anywhere you want".
