Mayor Bill Russell and Mike Ward of the City of Jerseyville shared plans and perspective on the $500 million Mid-American International Gateway Business Park railroad project coming to the city. The 1400 acre logistics center, privately funded by Stonemont Financial Group, in partnership with the Jerseyville Economic Development Council and Kansas City Southern Railroad will offload rail cargo to semi-trucks. Not only will this provide employment with the business park, but it will also provide opportunities for existing and new businesses to support the operation.

“We talked with Mayor Russell and I was impressed at the new plan and how the city plans to undergo the new development without letting investors or big companies ruin the area. I was concerned about it but the presentation helped ease my tension.” - Caden Witt, Jersey County CEO student

“I think the whole concept is really cool and it makes me want to move back to Jerseyville after college because of all the opportunities coming to this town.” - Anna Poppe, Jersey County CEO student
