Grafton Field Trip Stop 6 of 7
SparktStudio • Owner: Lori Mortland
This business recently celebrated their one year anniversary!
Did you know? The letter “T” in Sparkt is a nod to her Grandma Thelma.

Lori is not only a fantastic painter, but she is also a savvy entrepreneur AND a teacher in Calhoun. She opened Sparkt because she felt Grafton needed a place for people to have a creative outlet. She herself also wanted to be able to tap more into her creative side.
Before going back to teaching, she worked in a sales/design role for a yearbook company for sixteen years. She talked to the students about the cutthroat nature of sales.
Some of the students were nervous as they had never painted before. Lori made the students comfortable and gave them painting tips along the way. She has a way of giving instructions that make painting look easy and FUN for everyone.
This was one of the students favorite visits all year!

Last year and this year, Lori took time to ask each student about their individual businesses and offer suggestions for them to continue to be profitable into the summer months.

Thank you for speaking with us and building our confidence in our painting skills!
